FC Aarau has announced the signing of Liberian Nigerian striker Emmanuel Ernest on a two year contract, with an option for the 2026-2027 season. The 23 year old joins from the Northern Cypriot club Cetinkaya TSK. Ernest began his career with Christ Ambassador Sporting Academy in Nigeria and moved to Romanian club CS Sporting Rosiori in 2020. He has cited Cristiano Ronaldo, Didier Drogba, Romelu Lukaku, and Hulk as his role models.
Ernest's previous stints include playing for FC Rapid Bucuresti, FC Ripensia Timisoara, FC Arges Pitesti II in Romania, Hamitköy SHSK in Northern Cyprus, and Al Orooba in the UAE. His impressive record of 29 goals and seven assists last season caught the of FC Aarau. The club, competing in the Swiss second tier, finished sixth last season. Ernest could debut in the season opener against Thun on July 19, 2024.
